It’s a dark day for Dark Souls fans, or at least those who were planning on buying the remastered version for the Nintendo Switch. It has been announced that both the Switch version of the game and its accompanying Solaire of Astora amiibo have been delayed to a vague ‘summer of 2018’ release date.

This means that they will no longer release at the same time as the game’s other releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The official Dark Souls Twitter account stated that this is down to ‘the nature of causality’, as you can read below:

As stated above, the other versions for PC, PS4 and Xbox One will still release on May 25th as planned, and are not affected by this problem of ‘causality’. It is not clear why the Switch version has actually been delayed, though some have speculated that it is down to difficulties with optimising the game.
