Nintendo have announced both on their official Facebook page for the Splatoon franchise and their own Twitter page that the .52 Gal Deco, a fan-favourite weapon from the first Splatoon game on the Wii U, will be joining Splatoon 2‘s weaponry roster at Ammo Knights tomorrow morning on January 20th. (Be prepared to listen to Sheldon nerd out again…)

The .52 Gal Deco in Splatoon 2 will have Curling Bombs as its sub-weapon and the Sting Ray as its special weapon, rather than the Seeker sub-weapon and Inkstrike special weapon that it had in the first Splatoon game. Nintendo have advised on their Facebook post that ‘this set is perfect for players with no interest in self-preservation’ – as the .52 Gal Deco is notorious for its slow rate of fire and close-range nature.

Still, the .52 Gal Deco isn’t a fan-favourite for nothing; though not far-reaching or fast, it is powerful, and with careful aim and the strategic use of its other abilities, the weapon can be terrifying in the hands of the right Inkling.

Will you be using the .52 Gal Deco when it arrives in Splatoon 2 tomorrow morning? Or is it not the right kind of weapon for you?
