Niantic Inc. have just announced via a post on the official Pokémon GO website that Kyogre, the legendary Water-type Pokémon, has been added to Pokémon GO as a Legendary Raid Boss. Kyogre will feature in Raid Battles around the world until 1pm PST (9pm GMT) on February 14th, after which it is unknown when – if ever – it will be available to battle again.

Kyogre was introduced to the Pokémon series as part of its third generation of Pokémon, and originally hails from the Hoenn region. It is said that Kyogre has the ability to expand the oceans, and forms part of the Weather Trio of Pokémon alongside Groudon and Rayquaza.

Groudon, the legendary Ground-type, has been available as a Legendary Raid Boss since December 15th. It will remain available to battle until 1pm PST (9pm GMT) on January 15th, after which – much like Kyogre – it is unknown if it will ever become available again. As such, if you haven’t managed to catch one yet, now is the time to get out there and get battling!
